February 2: Please attend Lydia's judicial review

This Monday, February 2 is Lydia Dosu's long-awaited judicial review, which will examine a deeply concerning decision by the adjudicator in Lydia's complaint at the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario (HRTO).

The review is Lydia's opportunity, via her legal team, to challenge a ruling in which her adjudicator dismissed aspects of Lydia's complaint long before the established part of the process where the merits are properly discussed and considered. The review is an expensive and time-consuming endeavour, but one of very few opportunities to appeal HRTO decisions, including rulings that are in contravention of HRTO rules and procedures.

We urge supporters to attend some or all of Monday's day-long hearing: not only to support Lydia, but also to demonstrate the public's wider interest in this case.

Complaints about Anti-Black Racism must be treated with the utmost seriousness at the HRTO.

The review is open to the public and in person only. If an online option becomes available, we will let you know.

You may attend as little or as much of the review as you have time for.
